Stella McCartney Fall 2009
You can call me a fetishist if I tell you I think thigh-high boots can make a woman look absolutely sexy. Thigh-high heeled boots have definitely a sexual factor on me and most of the men, either they can look adorable and elegant, or totally slutty if someone does not know how to pull this off (…or maybe that woman is a street hooker). But how many women I see failing to wear these type of boots properly. Everything is in the legs. To wear thigh high boots you must be confident and not ashamed to show your legs (which means no skirts). If they are thin and long, that’s one great way to refine your silhouette. Now you are ready to kill the streets.

Not the first, neither the last post I will make about gender-bending looks. Boyfriend jackets are irresistibly chic if you know how to pull this off, period.

A little air of motorcycles came from the runways for this Fall/Winter 2009 season. Ankle boots or classic high-heel are back with a lot of buckles. Ideal to thrive during the cold winter with fierce, buckles give a strong and sexy look to your outfit. Perfectly paired with a mini dress or second-skin/deconstructed leggings.
All these shoes can be found at net-a-porter.com.

The Full House moguls and twins Mary-Kate/Ashley Olsens once again show their ease to dress people seamlessly. For Fall 2009, the campaign is full of strangers whose characters are quite intriguing almost gangster-ish. Anyway, I’d love to find out what’s the storyline behind this campaign. Elizabeth and James is a high-end low-key brand of clothes that knows how to layer casual with formal gears. The new line is pretty straightforward and will keep you dressed-up during the upcoming season. (more…)

Stella McCartney is a huge Bambi fan as the movie always reminds her of her late mother. So for this season’s ad campaign, Stella wanted to have fun and bring a little bit of regression with childlike ads. The campaign, shot by Ryan McGinley in the woods of Worcestershire, England, features Disney’s most famous deer and his pals Thumper, Friend Owl and Flower the skunk layered on the photos. French model Sigrid Agren is pictured stroking a live fox. So far I’ve only seen the ad on the Vogue Paris September issue, anyone else?

Don’t get me wrong, women in a men’s jacket are sexy! Boyish silhouettes have be quite ubiquitous during all Fashion Week runways. Strong masculine-shaped jackets with shoulders and straight lines adds to the androgynous trends of this fall 2009. Jackets will be “de rigueur” at work or after work from Chloé, YSL, Stella McCartney, Ralph Lauren, Phillip Lim and Hussein Chalayan. (more…)

To continue the coverage of H&M Fall 2009 magazine, I wanted to post this elegant editorial very chic, very Parisian called “Paris mon amour”. Not because I am from Paris and I obviously love this city, but I found the collection very pleasant to look at. The line is chic and elegant, fabrics look really good, a very “Parisian bobo-chic” style. Despite the boots thigh-high boots that look horrendous, everything else is really well-designed. I like the textured second-skin jean, white blouse in the second picture and the plaid jacket are all good. (more…)

Angela Lindvall on the cover of H&M Fall 2009 magazine
I usually don’t go that much at any H&M stores or even pay attention to their catalog, and furthermore, H&M has their own bi-annual magazine. Not exactly like Acne paper, the magazine is more like an editorial/trend catalog as they just use their own items and have some articles about celebrities/catwalks stories.
Angela Lindvall on the cover definitely caught my attention. A powerful cover really Vogue-like and a beautiful Angela as always reveal the fall Fashion trends. Curious that I am, I’ve decided to take a look at the interior pages. Their new collections are definitely – obviously – highly-inspired from the RTW F/W 2009 runways, you’ll find everything that are making the trends this fall but on the cheap side of the wallet. By Carolines mode - H&M leopard sweater
Safari prints makes a large come back for Fall/Winter, the animal print trend is developing and now includes several types of animal patterns, for example, zebra, ocelot, jaguar, giraffe and tiger. The animal print is everywhere from the clothes to accessories, but also on new textures. Don’t go out with the full leopard package, keep it understated by selecting one print item. Check out some examples I could find from the runways and obviously Caroline’s look is always “formidable”. (more…)
