Trendspotting? Steal The Show

Erdem, Prada, Fendi, Gucci, Versace

A sunny day is always paired a good pair of sunglasses. Either at the beach or in the streets you want, it’s the perfect accessory and what you wear tells a lot about you. The Spring/Summer 2010 season was filled with loads of glamorous sunglasses but also some eccentric ones. As usual Italian playmakers such as Fendi, Gucci, Prada and Versace show their savoir-faire of designing jet-set-friendly shades. On the other hand, I was expecting Vivienne Westwood to make the craziest sunglasses but Londonian designers Erdem and Giles, and French Sonia Rykiel stole the show with some bizarre and eccentric frames. Anyway, whatever you have in mind there is something for you!

Hand In Hand Jump For Joy by Kate Spade

I am a sucker for great and generous initiatives, specially when it comes from mainstream and adorable brands like Kate Spade. The famous handbags designer has joined forces with Women for Women to launch five new limited edition totes for spring 2010 as part of their Hand in Hand partnership. The five totes come in colorful and eye-catchy designs to add sunshine in your closet but also brighten the women’s lives in war-torn regions. All the bags were handmade in Bosnia and Kosovo by Women for Women International employees themselves. SO! Hurry up and get one (or many) of these five and limited editions at any New York Kate Spade stores.

PS: Each tote comes with a sentiment tag: “break the rules,” “jump for joy,” “hello sunshine,” “rise and shine,” and “everything’s coming up roses.”

Gucci – New Timeless campaign

Veruschka

For the launch of its new watches, Gucci released this month a new campaign entitled “Timeless”. Timeless like these photos coming from Gucci’s archives featuring 60’s quintessential Russian-model Veruschka and the British actor & dandy Peter Sellers. Stylish and iconic, each shot represents the Italian house’s fashion heritage in one timeless shot. What is remarkable is to realize that the design of the bags have lasted for 4 decades.

The G-Gucci and Classic watches blend Italian style and Swiss watch-making craftsmanship, and are perfect gifts for their future wearers.

View The World Through Gucci by Mert Alas + Marcus Piggott

Ever since I’ve been reading my mother’s Vogues and Elles, Gucci has always been one of the very few consistent and most inspirational fashion brands over the years. Although the brand is still struggling to survive from Tom Ford’s departure, Gucci has kept this exquisite vision of luxury. The dream that carries you in the jet-set world at a party in St. Tropez or simply jet-skiing on the lake Como. The Russian doll – Natasha Poly – is captivating me in a seductive manner and bringing my deep consciousness wherever she wants me to be.

When Football Meets Fashion

The Superbowl is – probably – the biggest and most celebrated day in America. Hard to miss the exhilirating craze on this Sunday with everyone giving support to its favorite team, cheering with pitchers of beers and dismissing his food diet for a day. On the fashion side, we already have a winning team and MVP when looking at Alexander Wang’s classic football-inspired collection for this Spring 2010 which has led to a large victory per the critics and fashionista ecstatic reviews.

If you want to dress on a Football-istic note without having to embrace the sportswear look, you can also get your hands on these cool accessories.

Trendspotting? Fedora’s shift

Iceberg, John Rocha, John Varvatos

When we all thought the fedora was dead after the last Indiana Jones movie, the famous hat is still an accessory that endures across the seasons. Usually men’s favorite millinery, on the Spring 2010 runways I’ve seen fedoras all over and stylishly designed to freshen up your head. Not only intended for men, I’ve spotted some fedora on collections for women on occasions. From the beachside to the office, there is a fedora for everyone.
