Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say and not giving a damn.
This is probably the hardest post I have ever made, in an “About me” page you can tell so much about your life that it can become boring but if you drop just a few simple lines you don’t say enough. I know that whatever I write, it will never satisfies me and will probably change this page occasionally or never again. I’m not a professional writer and my syntax is probably not perfect, perhaps because I’m French. I do enjoy to write and so I’m open to corrections or any comments.
I’m Kevin and live here in the city that has wit, soul, dust, architecture, fashion, eccentricity and all these fabulous dreams that makes New York City unique. When I was a child, my grand-mother – a classic & chic Parisian bourgeoise – always advised my brothers and I to “shut up and look pretty” (in French “Tais-toi, sois beau”) in presence of people. At that time, I really could not understand why. All she made sure of was that we all looked sleek and good. People would always congratulate us for our style and manners, and make my family very proud of our standing in the society.
As a grew up, while facing the society with a more mature point of view, it was clear to me that clothes and manners make the Man. Whenever you are with your friends or looking for a job, nothing succeeds like the appearance of success. Your style determines who you are and who you want to be. But I am not one of those who say that you have to look like this to do that. Your look must translate your lifestyle. The best looks in the streets are the one from individuals who are happy in their outfits, no matter how original it could be. Fashion is an industry, style is your creativity.
Since my childhood, I loved exploring design & fashion, communicate with creativity and measure the results on the consumers, this is why I became an executive in a top advertising company. However I can’t really explain why I have always been more comfortable on talking about personal image, how style can impact or inspire everyone’s lifestyle and how becoming your own brand can make your dreams happen. I remember reading my mum’s magazines like Madame Figaro, Harper’s, Vogue, Elle and Marie-Claire when I was only 10. Kid, I knew the names of all the supermodels and followed their career by looking at the editorials. Already then I dreamed to be a fashion editor like Carine Roitfeld. Today, I still do dream that one day I will be sitting on the front-row of a fashion show.
My goal by writing this blog – that I consider as a notebook – is to explore the best from the fashion industry: designer collection, fashion shows, styles or anything fashion-related. This blog will connect you with fresh daily news and inspiration. I explore fashion with my own point of view, my own subjectivity and I have no shame about it. Most of my time, I spend hunting for ideas that I want to share with people. I don’t pretend being an expert of anything, however I’m open to any comment and suggestions.
I hope you’ll enjoy! Feel free to contact me by using this form.
