Since I discovered Maison Martin Margiela, I was among the skeptics. My interests for the fashion house have reversed over the past year after getting myself two garments.  What made instantly the difference was feeling the craft and technical know-how of each piece. It made me want to explore and discover the vision behind – not the brand – the collective of designers that defines Maison. Wearing Margiela is being sheltered by art . You might say “art has a price”, but the craft behind each piece justifies it largely. However you might be surprised to find some Margiela pieces at vintage store, so always stay on the look out.

We try to have people accept the fact that the work of the Maison Martin Margiela can exist independently of what the designer looks like-that our work is solely a proposition of wearing what it is we like to create, a presentation of a way in which we see things at a given moment. Martin Margiela decided not to appear in the public eye for that reason. He wants the light not to be on him but on what really matters-the clothes, the philosophy, the Maison, the team.
