While we thought the economy was getting better, one notorious NYC label is closing down due to its current economic situation. Susan Dell’s Phi label is progressively closing the fashion house until its last Spring 2010 Fashion Week. On a heartbreak we will see a critically acclaimed design look with particular and great tailoring disappear. The recognizable 80’s look and impeccably tailored shapes will be missed on the runway. I wonder what Phi’s creative director Andreas Melbostad will be preparing us for his last collection.
Per press release, select items will be available on sale at the SoHo store on Greene street through January, then stage a “warehouse sale” at the end of that month to clear the existing inventory.
