Tomorrow night will be the night totally dedicated to shopping decadence. For the ones lucky to be in the city, here I share my plan for the night. Obviously there won’t be enough hours to indulge myself in the festivities, instead I will enjoy most of it as much as I can while running in the cabs or subways. This is definitely my list of favorite picks of events but you can find much more on the official website.
Barneys will be the place to go. Madison aveneu and 61st will be transformed into a street fair of designer personal appearances and creative events. Get the chance to meet Isabel Toledo, Marcus and David from Rag & Bone, Narciso Rodriguez, Amanda Brooks, Waris, Thom Browne, Jonathan Adler, Lisa Perry, Alexander Wang, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. I’ve hear the Olsen twins will be present for a little while for the launch of the Row for men collection. Full schedule is there.
Strike the pose at the Bryant Park boutique where wannabee models will compete for a spot to the A+O Fashion Week presentation. Brian Boulo will be photographying while models will be treating with professional hair, make-up and stylist.
Customers who spend $2,500+ will have their portrait taken by Arthur ELGORT, the legendary photographer responsible for the Cindy and Christy portraits. The Richards girls will be DJing while Charlize Theron will sign the September Vogue issue for the luckiest.
Supermodel Daria Werbowy is announced to make a personal appearance at the Lancome counter at Saks Fifth Avenue where she will be signing the customer’s purchases.
At DKNY Madison avenue, Karolina Kurkova will be hosting the celebration for the launch of The Observer Playground. Cupcakes and bubblies will be served during the party hosted by DJ Jesse Marco, from the late DJ AM’s Deckstar, followed by a special performance by dancer and supermodel Coco Rocha. The night ends with a collaboration of violin and electro pop sounds by DJ Mia Moretti and violinist Caitlin Moe. In honor of Fashion’s Night Out and DKNY’s 20th year anniversary, limited edition unique tote bags were designed; 20 exclusively can be purchased at the Madison Avenue store and the other 20 at the SOHO location.
