The good girl with black bunny ears

Natalia Vodianova bunny ears Vogue Russia

Since the previous Louis Vuitton Fashion Week, I was desperately looking to see again those silly but cute bunny ears that created a stunning moment of Fashion. My patience was worth it. Thanks to Vogue Russia which just offered this magic photoshoot with model Natalia Vodianova photographed by Alastair Mclellan. I really believe the bunny ears can be a great accessory, specially if you are in a recess mood! (more…)

Master your Croisière look this summer

Croisiere look street style summer 2009

Spotted on Fashion Indie, I was absolutely amazed by how effortless this look was and how this classic look is SO cool. This summer the rolled-up sleeves and trousers is the killer detail, boat shoes and oversized bag are the must-haves accessories.  Easy look to recreate without breaking the bank, also keep in mind that a good look is all about the attitude. And this guy has it.

Love Brigade Fall 2009: a story about friendship and a wandering soul

Love Brigade Fall 2009 for women

It’s been real crazy for the past few days. I’ve had some of my best friends from college visiting me here in NYC, and I could not take a break to write anything until they are gone. And I feel so disconnected now, but it’s a good feeling because I’ve spent most of my time observing the city and watch the people. It’s funny how every time I play the tour guide for my friends I always end up finding new stuff or the next big thing.

Recently it happened that I discovered this Williamsburg (Brooklyn)-based clothing brand during some cool NYC parties hosted by my favorite photographer Nicky Digital. Love Brigade is obviously a cool infusion from music and a high-level attention to details. Believe me, it has been so refreshing to look at their Fall/Winter 2009 lookbooks. Experimenting an intimate experience between two friends and a wandering soul looking for home. The collection is completed with natural textures, sexy asymmetrical cuts, straps, comfortable fabrics and relaxed fits.

I haven’t had the chance to visit their store yet but I assure you I’ll do very soon!

Innovative screenprints set the fashion

chandelier_il_430xn65857326

On Etsy we can see how much creativity independent designers have. Each time I browse Etsy, I end up with great findings like PrettyRaccoon’s clothing store. She sells all kind of clothes from vintage to bags. The most interesting items are the printed ones, and she has some innovative ones. I love the chandelier print on this American Apparel t-shirt dress. Some other prints are quite surprising like the necklace bell and the bow tie prints. I highly recommend having a look at her store. And no, I’m not making any commission on her revenues. ;)

Fall 2009 Trends: A touch of fur

Brought to the light by my favorite local magazine NYmag, fur will make a strong appearance this Fall/Winter season. Noticed on several runway shows, fur will subtly embellish your clothes and accessories. I like Donna Karan’s and Marni’s fur gloves. Givenchy, D&G and Jean Paul Gaultier wild fur coats. “It’s the kind of discreet luxury you’d expect to see in a recession.” say Harriet Mays Powell and Doria Santlofer from the NYmag.

A first look at Gap’s newest CFDA collaboration with Alexander Wang

Gap Alexander Wang collaboration

When was the last time you stepped in a Gap store? Probably it’s been a while you have not worn any khaki, but who knows how much you would fall for this latest collaboration from Gap and Alexander Wan. If you like Alexander Wang’s taste but only have the Gap budget… Wang will debut his Gap collection in stores on June 16. However, don’t expect Wang’s grunginess in this collection. The collaboration focuses on traditional khaki, dresses and cute summer hats. As of now the standout piece will be a khaki motorcycle jacket that will retail for under $100. (more…)

Lacoste Spring/Summer 2009: I’m a fan

Lacoste Spring Summer 2009 ad campaign

Lacoste’s clothes are now fun to wear thanks to the recent ad campaigns and the new brand positioning. I like the new direction they’ve taken: the new collections are fun, colorful and energetic. A brand that decided to push its boundaries from seriousness to a more casual/preppy vibe. Here the models look like having tons of fun in the newest spring/summer ‘09 campaign. The campaign was shot by Terry Richardson, the models jump up in the air and use fans as props. Make sure to watch the making off video above to see how the fun images were taken. (more…)

Little Burberry kid wants to be grown-up

Burberry kids ad campaign

These shots of little Burberry kid models are very cute, because it resembled the grown-up campaign so closely. Take a look at these ads and you’ll quickly refer to the adult ad campaign that have been running over the past years. I find it very fun and smart because as a high-class brand like Burberry, they want to make sure the brand perception stays consistent as a kid or adult. And who would not want to have their kids look as good as these kid models?
